Tanker Compartment Axle Estimator

A simplified estimator for how multi‑compartment loading can affect steer, drives, and trailer tandems. Because compartments are often different sizes and not evenly spaced, this tool uses compartment location factors (front/middle/rear) or a custom axle split per compartment.

Important: This is an estimate. Confirm with certified scales. Adjust the location/split settings until it matches your trailer’s real-world behavior.
Density varies by blend, temperature, and additives. Adjust if you have better data.

Baseline (before loading)

Enter your current scale weights (empty or before product is loaded).

Kingpin load split (tractor)

When weight transfers onto the kingpin, some goes to the steer and most typically goes to the drives. Set your typical split (you can tune it after comparing to real scale tickets).

Default 25% steer / 75% drives is a common starting point.
If enabled, each compartment can override its kingpin share.

Compartments

Even Split divides total across compartments. You can then fine-tune each compartment.

Limits (optional)

How to make it “as close as possible”: Set baseline from an actual empty ticket → load a known amount in one compartment → scale → adjust that compartment’s location/custom split until this tool matches your ticket. Repeat for other compartments once and save your settings.
